St. Little Flower, A model Today

Image
St. Therese of Lisiex – Doctor of the Church “I fell that my mission is about to begin, my mission to make God loved as I love Him, to teach soul my life way” in the answer to the question “What is the little way you want to teach the souls?” Theresa said: “It is the way of spiritual childhood, the way of trust and absolute surrender.” The poet Ben Johnson beautifully wrote that “It is not growing like a tree In bulk doth make Man better be; Or standing long an oak, three hundred year, To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere: A lily of a day Is fairer far in May, Although it fall and die that night— It was the plant and flower of light.” What is the use of a long life, when it’s meaningless? What is the use if we live as long as Methuselah who lived for 969 years (Genesis 5: 27) and have no sweetness in life? Even if life is short we need to make it sweet. Jesus life was short, just 33 years, but he gave sweetness ...

Reflection 5:  Philosophy And Its Importance In Life It is best to start with a definition of philosophy. The word philosophy comes from the Greek, which literally means “the love of wisdom”. So true philosophy is to love wisdom & apply this wisdom in the context of school & work. PHILOSOPHY is a study that seeks to understand the mysteries of existence and reality. It tries to discover the nature of truth and knowledge and to find what is of basic value and importance in life. It also examines the relationships between humanity and nature and between the individual and society. Philosophic thought is an inescapable part of human existence.  Almost everyone has been puzzled from time to time by such essentially philosophic questions as "What does life mean?;Did I have any existence before I was born? Who is god? , What is the purpose of my life? ,Is there life after death?, etc. Most people also have some kind of philosophy in the sense ...

The Value of Life : A perspective based on the lives of  St. John Paul Ⅱ, Cristiano Ronaldo and Justin Bieber. Today we are living in a well-developed atmosphere. The entire world is available on the tip of our finger. The world gives maximum possibilities and pleasures but when we are moving towards the digital world we are missing some moral values, we are forgetting humanity and mutual respect. Our own country is on the path of development. We are trying to be efficient in all the fields. Somehow India has became a terrible land to live. India became most unsecured place for women. People are being killed for the sake of Cow. During the last seven years 28 Indians were killed and 124 people were injured due to the related issues. When we look into Indian Philosophy we can find one term “ AHAM BRHAMASMI ” it means ‘I AM BRHAMAN’. The land which consider man as the image of Brahman becoming very harmful for human life. Reflection 3 : THE SAMARITAN WOMAN AND THE DISCIPLES

Image
THE SAMARITAN WOMAN AND THE DISCIPLES (JN.4:27-38) This gospel passage is very familiar to all of us. There we come across two main characters other than Jesus. They are the disciples and the Samaritan woman. They represents two categories of people. The Samaritan woman represents a zealous religious or even an outsider who has his/her own responsibilities in his family and society. And the disciples represent a passive religious like most of us. The gospel passage deals with the incidents happened after the dialogue between the Samaritan woman and Jesus. When the disciples came back they saw Jesus speaking with a gentile woman. They were astonished. Because she was a Samaritan – a pagan. Very often we also get disappointed or jealous when we see Jesus intervening through laymen or outsiders. They perform miracles, they see visions, they predict future, they hear god’s voice…and we wonder just as the disciples did. There are a number of examples for this. Mario Joseph -...
