Jn 8/12-20

Jesus said “I am the light of the world: he who follows me will not walk in the darkness. But will have the truth.”
In the holy bible the word light was especially connected with God. Psalm 27/1 says “the lord is my light. Isaiah 60/19 we see “the lord will be your everlasting light”
.
We know that to attain any goal we should have a proper and suitable path. Even if we have the clear idea as well as the path in order to proceed we should have the light. There for light is a necessary condition.
There are types of light in the world. Physical light and spiritual light. To attain spiritual goal we need the spiritual light. In other words enlighten or convictions. In order to attain material goal there must have the physical light.
Jesus himself reveals “He is the way, the truth and the life”. Eternal life is our goal. To attain this goal we have to walk through the way. That way is Jesus. In order to walk in this way we need the light of truth. That is Jesus who is the only exclusive source of all blessings.
Through today's passage we come to know that he is not only the path but also the light which guides us towards to the divine. It is the time to reflect ourselves sincerely, whether we are lacking the sufficient light of Jesus in our religious life. Let us meditate…..
